The Daily Mail says a 30% rise in followers in December means the Channel is now the second largest UK news publisher on WhatsApp, behind the BBC.
The Mail says it caps off a successful year for its WhatsApp Channels, which it claims saw a 119% increase in traffic in 2024 and nearly four million article clicks in November and December.
WhatsApp Channels allow you to privately follow people, organisations, sports teams and more depending on who you want to get updates from.
From reality stars to Royals, the Mail sends exclusive news to over five million readers around the world directly to their phones every single day, added the publisher.
MailOnline head of social, Hayley Kenny said: “Our Whatsapp accounts have gone from strength to strength over the last couple of months. It has been a great way to reach a brand-new audience and deliver stories on the topics that they want to see.
“Thanks to the hard work and dedication of our teams in the UK and US, our main Daily Mail account is now the home for over 1.1 million loyal and engaged readers.”
