The Daily Mail has announced it has reached a social media milestone with over five million followers across all Instagram accounts.

Daily Mail reaches Instagram milestone
Hayley Kenny: “We’re thrilled to see such incredible momentum across our Instagram channels.”

Daily Mail says having added one million new followers in the past four months, this cements the Mail as one of the fastest-growing news publishers on the platform.

“We’re thrilled to see such incredible momentum across our Instagram channels,” MailOnline Head of Social, Hayley Kenny said.

“From breaking showbiz exclusives and Royal revelations to compelling investigations, Instagram brings the very best of the Mail’s journalism to life in an engaging, visual way.”

On average, the Mail says videos across its portfolio of accounts – which includes its main channel, Sport, UK and Royals – are being viewed one billion times each month.

Instagram plays a vital role in the Mail’s digital strategy, added the publisher, and this growth complements their presence across Facebook, Snapchat, TikTok and WhatsApp.

“We’re reaching new, diverse audiences far beyond our traditional readership and drawing them into our most popular content,” Kenny added.

“We have ambitious goals to become the number one publisher on the platform and we’re focused on deepening engagement through branded partnerships, subscriptions and innovative content experiences.”
