Dennis appoints Steve Fowler as Editor-In-Chief of Auto Express

Dennis Publishing has announced the appointment of Steve Fowler as the new Editor-in-Chief of Auto Express and CarBuyer.

Steve joins from Haymarket Media where he was Editor-in-Chief of the company’s flagship title, What Car? Steve worked at Haymarket for 18 years, during which time he also edited weekly car title Autocar, and consumer electronics magazine What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision.

Steve will manage the 22-strong Auto Express and CarBuyer team and report into James Burnay, Managing Director of Dennis Motoring and Publishing Director of both brands.

James Burnay said: “This is a hugely exciting appointment for both Auto Express and CarBuyer and cements Dennis Publishing’s ambition in the motoring market. The talent and experience that Steve will bring is vast, allowing the existing excellent team to benefit greatly from his leadership, enthusiasm and passion for motoring.”

Auto Express is the UK’s biggest-selling motoring weekly. It launched in 1988 and has been published 1,184 times. Its eponymous website attracts over 1.5million unique users every month.

CarBuyer is a stand-alone website which is designed to help people decide which new car to buy. Launched in November 2010, it has seen instant success with over 1million page views in its first month.
