Dennis Names Rosie’s Rainbow Fund as 2013 Chosen Charity

Dennis Publishing has announced its collaboration with 'Rosie’s Rainbow Fund' as part of its continuing support to several chosen charities in 2013.

Rosie’s Rainbow Fund was established in 2003 after the tragic death of eleven year old Rosie Mayling. While in hospital Rosie decided that, when she was better, she would put on shows to raise money for sick children in hospital. Following the loss of Rosie her parents set up the charity to ensure that Rosie's spirit could live on and offer support to families and children affected by illness, disability and bereavement. The charity focuses its work in the regions of Oxon, Berks and Bucks.

Dennis will be working with Rosie’s Rainbow Fund by participating in a variety of fundraising activities but also through staff offering their time and expertise to help develop the awareness of the charity and its promotional activities; in particular the VW Camper Van Prize Draw which will take place at the end of the year.

Alison Hunter, Head of the Dennis CSR Board, said: "We are delighted to be working with Rosie’s Rainbow Fund. This year, we decided to ask our staff to help us choose what charity to support and we were pleased to receive so many worthwhile nominations. After plenty of consideration we chose Rosie’s Rainbow Fund as we felt it was a perfect fit for Dennis as we can use our expertise in magazine and website publishing, digital marketing and social media development to help support the charity’s aims for this year."

Carolyn Mayling, Chair and Founder of Rosie's Rainbow Fund said: "In our tenth year of operation, we are delighted to be working with Dennis and have lots of great ideas for collaboration, including the promotion of our VW Camper Van Prize Draw, which is generating lots of interest! We hope that by the end of the year we will be able to move ahead with our plans to provide a respite home for families affected by illness, disability and bereavement, offering much needed support in Rosie's memory."

Dennis has been a supporter of many charities over the years and is currently focussing on four chosen charities which include the Heart of England Forest Project, NABS and The Big Issue Foundation. As well as sizeable donations to its chosen charities, Dennis supports a number of other charitable events throughout the year. As launch media partner of Cancer Research’s Dryathlon in January, Dennis’ Men’s Fitness team provided editorial and video content for the Dryathlon website and Facebook campaigns. A team from Dennis will also be taking part in the British Heart Foundation’s London to Brighton annual Bike Ride in June and Dennis staff continue to fundraise for their neighbouring primary school to help fund their library and educational school trips.

Dennis Publishing will begin work with Rosie’s Rainbow Fund with immediate effect.
