Eric Musgrave appointed Editorial Director of Drapers

EMAP, the content, subscription and networking business, has appointed Eric Musgrave as Editorial Director for Drapers, the fashion industry title.

Eric (pictured) has over 30 years of experience in the fashion business and an international reputation as a leading authority on the global fashion industry. He began his journalistic career on Drapers Record, as it was then called, in 1980. He subsequently held senior editorial positions on a wide range of B2B titles, including Menswear, Fashion Weekly, International Textiles and Sportswear International. Eric was also launch editor of For Him Magazine (now FHM) the ground-breaking men’s style magazine.

Eric joined Emap in 2000 and led the team which merged Drapers Record and Menswear to create the modern Drapers in 2002. For this achievement he was named the Professional Publishers Association Business Weekly Editor of the Year and the Emap Business Weekly Editor of the Year in 2003. He left Emap in 2006 for a career as a fashion industry consultant and a freelance writer, during which time he has written an acclaimed pictorial history of men’s tailoring, Sharp Suits.

Eric started in his new position last week and will report to Richard Breeden, Drapers’ Managing Director.
