Exact Editions extends partnership with Warners
Daryl Rayner: “The digital archive of Birdwatch is a valuable resource which curates more than 30 years of birdwatching history.”

Digital publishing services provider Exact Editions has announced it has extended its partnership with Warners Group Publications to create a new fully-searchable digital archive of Birdwatch magazine, available to members through the BirdGuides website. Membership includes unlimited and fully-searchable access to the complete digital archive as well as issues of ID Photo Guides, added Exact Editions.

Birdwatch was established in 1992 as an independent magazine for birders. It grew to become one of the leading monthly news and features magazines at the enthusiast end of the market, says Exact Editions, and has been part of Warners Group Publications since 2008.

Each issue of Birdwatch includes features written by a pool of authors, photographers and artists and an advisory panel of expert contributors. Topics covered each month include bird identification, conservation, where-to-watch guides, overseas destinations, avian taxonomy, species profiles, and news, reviews and comment.

Exact Editions says the digital archive is accessible through its White-Labelling Service, which allows the publisher to manage e-commerce, data and access to the archive.

Publisher of BirdGuides and Birdwatch, Rob McDonnell said: “Exact Editions has provided a stylish platform for a whole range of Warners Group titles, and their work with Birdwatch is no exception. The platform’s White-Labelling Service allows the digital archive to be easily adapted into our current membership system.”

Managing director of Exact Editions, Daryl Rayner said: “The digital archive of Birdwatch is a valuable resource which curates more than 30 years of birdwatching history. The stacking interface allows for intuitive access, organising a comprehensive archive that will delight ornithologists and birders worldwide.”

Memberships are available from the BirdGuides website here.
