Future partners with PA for Royal Baby app

17 July, 2013: Future announces a partnership with the Press Association (PA) on a special edition app to celebrate the birth of the Royal Baby available for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

A survey last year revealed that the popularity of the Royal Family is at a 15-year high, largely due to celebrations like the Golden Jubilee and the Royal Wedding. And now with the birth of a future King or Queen of England imminent Royal Family fever has never been higher, says Future.

Additional in-app chapters will feature live updates from the Press Association, ensuring all the latest news on the most anticipated baby of recent years is delivered straight to your device, as well as featuring exclusive photography of the most famous family in Britain. In addition to the free sampler, the additional in-app chapters are:

• William: A Royal Gallery

• Kate: A Royal Gallery

• William & Kate: A Royal Gallery

• Childhood: A Royal Gallery

Once the Royal Baby arrives there will be a Royal Baby Gallery Special also made available. This will be the first in-app chapter to feature photography of the new arrival and will be constantly updated as new content becomes available.

The Royal Baby App will be updated with the latest news on the Royal Family with more galleries and special content becoming available in coming months.

The app is powered by FutureFolio, Future’s own proprietary app creation software. FutureFolio powers Football Week, also in partnership with the Press Association, a live-updating digital interactive magazine for iPad. Mike Goldsmith, Editor-in-Chief of Digital Editions at Future, says: "The Royal Baby App is a great mix of exclusive content and gorgeous photography celebrating the biggest event of the year. We plan to have an in-app chapter featuring the first photography of the royal baby inside the app for sale the same day as Kate and William show off their new arrival — the world is waiting and so are our designers!"

Tony Watson, Managing Director at Press Association adds: “We are delighted to be launching another series of market-leading apps with Future. The products combine Future's great design and product development capabilities with PA's fantastic wealth of Royal Family content.”

The Royal Baby App: Kate and William's Birth Celebration is available free from the App Store on iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. The four additional in-app chapters are available through In-App Purchase, priced at 69p each.
