Currently GQ’s fashion advertising director and associate publisher of GQ Style, Lewis (pictured) joined the magazine in 1999 as fashion advertising manager. Prior to this, Lewis was a menswear buyer and manager for Matches, the designer fashion retailer, for nine years.
Alex Russell, Southbank’s group advertising director, says: “Lewis is steeped in the worlds of fashion and luxury goods and his experience is perfect for InStyle. The brand is in a great position and outperforming the market, having just posted its third consecutive ABC increase. The combination of Lewis’s talents and our brilliant editorial team, headed up by new editor Eildih MacAskill, will ensure that InStyle is set for another successful year.”
Lewis says: "It's incredibly exciting to be joining a magazine that has such an exceptional talent for achieving results for its advertisers. Astute retail awareness and generous helpings of Hollywood glamour make InStyle a relevant, modern and aspirational title. I'm looking forward to working with such a fresh and accomplished team.”
Lewis takes up his role at InStyle on 5 May.
According to the publishers, at the latest round of ABCs, InStyle posted a circulation of 180,987, up 0.8% on the year and outperforming the fashion sector.
