Haymarket renews FMG prepress contract

Haymarket Media Group has re-appointed FMG to manage all prepress production for 36 of its business, consumer and customer magazines, including Stuff, What Car?, Champions and Campaign.

The contract covers the majority of pre-media services, such as page makeup, image manipulation and retouching, and is one of the largest prepress contracts in the UK.

FMG will also continue to provide global asset management services to support Haymarket’s licensing and syndication operations across the world.

Haymarket was early to adopt FMG’s VIP flatplanning and production software, and the new contract confirms its continued commitment to the product – now in its fourth release as ‘VIP4’.

FMG and Haymarket are increasingly working together on digital and video related projects, in addition to traditional prepress services. One recent online example, the Army’s interactive Camouflage magazine, was the result of a joint collaboration between FMG’s digital team and Haymarket customer publishing agency Network, for their client the British Army.

Kevin Costello (pictured), chief executive of Haymarket Media Group, said of the new contract: “FMG has been one of our most trusted and reliable suppliers for some two decades now. I’m pleased to award them this new contract, and look forward to us working together in the future.”

Andy Berg, FMG managing director, said: “We have enjoyed a particularly special relationship with Haymarket for many years now. They remain one of our most valued clients. We consider it a privilege to be asked to continue to support them as they are unquestionably one of the UK’s most well respected and successful private publishers.”
