Immediate acquires Cloth Magazine

Immediate Media Co has expanded its craft portfolio with the acquisition of Cloth Magazine from Real Design and Media.

The innovative and fashionable craft and sewing title will sit within Immediate Media Co’s craft portfolio, which already includes Cardmaking & Papercraft and The World of Cross Stitching, the UK newsstand’s best-selling papercraft and stitching magazines respectively.

Cloth Magazine was launched by Bristol-based independent publisher and design house Real Design and Media in Autumn 2009. Issue 12, the first issue of the title to be published by Immediate Media Co, is on sale now, under the direction of Creative Development Publisher Anna Davenport and Publishing Director Cath Potter. Real Design and Media has been engaged to act as art editors of the title.

Anna Davenport commented: “I am thrilled that Cloth Magazine is now part of the Immediate Media Co craft portfolio. Real Design and Media has developed a truly creative and innovative brand, and we love the style and energy that the title has. We have exciting plans in place to take the magazine from strength to strength, but the essence of Cloth, and what its loyal readership loves, is here to stay.”

Cathy McKinnon, Director of Real Design and Media, said: “Cloth Magazine is much loved by readers in the UK and USA, and we are proud to have grown the concept into a highly regarded magazine over the last three years. An opportunity has arisen for us to sell Cloth, and we believe that Immediate Media Co is perfectly placed to continue to develop the title and provide a fantastic magazine to the readers.”
