IPC Media appoints Group Head of PR

IPC Media has announced the appointment of Anna Foster as group head of PR, effective 18 July 2011.

Anna (pictured) will be responsible for IPC’s corporate media relations, reporting to Karen Myers, IPC’s Corporate Communications director. She will lead a team of three – Ben Bolton, Anna Gawan and Victoria Higham – who also deliver consumer PR for a number of IPC brands including Country Life, NME, Now, Nuts and Woman. In her new role, Anna will advise IPC’s senior publishing and advertising management on PR strategies, and will also be responsible for the corporate website, www.ipcmedia.com.

Anna joins from Eulogy! where she worked on a number of top clients, including the relaunched Reader’s Digest, the Association of Publishing Agencies (APA) and WPP-owned media agency MEC.

She also spent over four years at The Media Foundry where she directed PR and drove communications strategy for a wide portfolio of media clients including AMV.BBDO, CBS Outdoor and Red Bee Media as well as the National Readership Survey (NRS).

Previously, she worked in-house as press officer for the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising (IPA), representing the interests of advertising agencies.

Karen says: “Anna has carved out a strong reputation in media and publishing PR, with over eight years’ experience working with leading agencies and clients. Her consultancy background will bring a fresh dynamic to a team that already operates within an account management structure to serve our internal clients.”

Anna adds: “I am thrilled to be joining IPC Media. Its brands are some of the best-loved, not just on the newsstand but also online, at events and on emerging platforms. I am looking forward to telling its story and being part of a company I have long admired for its innovative approach.”
