Jason Cowley is a journalist, magazine editor, and author. Until recently, he served as editor-in-chief of the New Statesman for 16 years, during which time he earned multiple British Society of Magazine Editors awards for his leadership in the politics and current affairs category, added Times Media.

Prior to this one of his first journalism roles was at The Times in 1996 as a staff writer, and he has also served as editor of Observer Sport Monthly and editor of literacy magazine Granta.

Cowley is also the author of several books, including The Last Game, the essay collection Reaching for Utopia: Making Sense of an Age of Upheaval, and his most recent work, Who Are We Now? Stories of Modern England, which examines contemporary England.
