Key acquires Aviation News

Key Publishing has announced the acquisition of Britain’s longest established monthly aviation journal, Aviation News.

This, according to Key, further strengthens Key Publishing’s preeminent position within the aviation publishing sector.

The title was previously published by HPC Publishing who has sold the title as a result of a strategic portfolio review.

As one of Europe’s leading publisher of aviation magazines with brands such as FlyPast, Airliner World, AirForces Monthly and Airports International, Key say they are confident that they can build on the “excellent reputation” that Aviation News has had, in various forms, from the early 1940s, in satisfying the needs of readers and advertisers alike.

“Publishing aviation magazines is what we do and, as a result, we are delighted to bring Aviation News into the Key portfolio.

It is a strong brand with a great history and we are relishing the opportunity to develop the title further by utilising both the expertise we have in this market and our infrastructure of aviation experts around the world” stated Adrian Cox, Managing Director of Key Publishing.

The first issue to be published by Key Publishing Ltd will be the May issue of Aviation News on sale on 8 April 2010.
