North Yorkshire marketing agency the fabl has announced it has launched a consumer magazine on behalf of the Farm Retail Association (FRA).
Life & Soil is a quarterly lifestyle magazine for customers of Farm Retail Association (FRA) members, which includes farm shops and farmers’ markets.
The fabl, who have published customer magazines for clients including Wren Kitchens, The British Frozen Food Federation and Today’s Foodservice Group, say they planned, wrote and designed the glossy 68 page magazine.
Packed with features, interviews, recipes and events information, the agency says the first issue of Life & Soil will be on sale in participating members’ outlets from 13th March 2025, after its official launch at the FRA conference.
This spring issue leads with an exclusive interview with FRA Patron Hugh
Fearnley-Whittingstall. Other experts, including ‘The Black Farmer’ Wilfred
Emmanuel-Jones and food writer Henrietta Green, also contributed to this
issue, added the agency.
Life & Soil is available in member farm shops throughout the country. According to the fabl, most people shopping in farm retail outlets are ABC1 professionals, parents and grandparents with disposable income, and customers with an appreciation of the ethos of ethical, authentic and sustainable quality.
A printed magazine is a proven tool to reach retail customers, added the agency. Life & Soil magazine has a high-end, impactful appearance, making it look exclusive and valuable. It provides engaging and shareable content and is also available in digital format for wider audience reach. It is the perfect vehicle for strengthening sales, marketing, PR, and advocacy strategies, the agency continued.
From cover to cover, the fabl says Life & Soil includes imagery, information and articles, like:
- Interviews with fascinating folk on interesting topics
- Spotlight on farmers’ markets
- Features on leisure activities and family fun
- Features on food, crafting and growing
- Additional features on seasonal foods and recipes
- National and regional events for families
- A directory of member farm shops and farmers’ markets
Mags Walker, managing director at the fabl, said: “We’re thrilled to work with the Farm Retail Association and produce this magazine for its members to sell. It’s an exciting opportunity to put brands directly in the hands of farm retail outlet customers, as well as helping the outlets grow their businesses and connect with each other.”
