MagazineCloner to launch new software at Publishing Expo

MagazineCloner, the digital publishing company, will launch their no fee, revenue-share only custom edition software at Publishing Expo (stand C12).

According to MagazineCloner: The software allows publishers to create market-leading digital editions with none of the prohibitive license, upload, download or creation costs of existing bespoke edition solutions.

The new custom edition technology is ideal for both regular editions and digital one-shots, opening the custom edition market for publishers who wish to gauge their market potential without a monthly commitment. The custom edition tools allow publishers to create dynamic issues with video front covers, vertical and horizontal navigation and unlimited rich media including video, galleries and 360 images.

The first title to launch its regular edition as a bespoke iPad version using this software was attitude, 'Europe's No.1 Gay Lifestyle Magazine'. Since it's relaunch as a custom edition attitude has regularly featured in the UK's top grossing Newsstand titles and has seen subscription conversion of app downloads rise from 13% to 27%. The December 2011 issue, with a video cover of Strictly Come Dancing winner Harry Judd, sold nearly 10,000 issues in 4 weeks. Another title to take advantage of the custom build is V, The Vauxhall Magazine, an entirely free download from the app store designed by the custom publisher Stream Publishing, this has been hugely well received by both readers and client alike.

Patrick Knight, Strategic Development Director of MagazineCloner said, “We are delighted to announce the public launch of our custom edition software. There is an undoubted demand from publishers to create bespoke digital editions but to-date the cost has put them out of the reach of most. To offer no-risk custom-edition capability to publishers (and their advertisers), with no long term commitment and the only cost being one of issue design, we feel confident that this will finally open up the market to all publishers to produce native iPad editions to compete with the market leaders. The success of attitude since its launch is testament to the increased customer retention and engagement which custom editions can offer. We are thrilled to be exhibiting both the custom build and our brand revamp at Publishing Expo; they are the first in a line of exciting new launches coming up in the first half of 2012.”
