Mother & Baby magazine launches ‘Working Mum’s Club’

Bauer Media UK’s Mother & Baby has announced the launch of their online support network, ‘Working Mum’s Club’, alongside a number of editorial and distribution changes to the brand.

The new ‘Working Mums Club’ is launching as an accessible portal for working mothers looking for practical and emotional support. The club will act as a place where like-minded women can share views and experiences, and will be headed up by a ‘Working Mums Panel’ made up of high profile, senior businesswomen, personalities and experts who will act as ‘mum mentors’. Panellists include Claire Irvin, Editor-in-Chief of Mother & Baby magazine, television presenters Gaby Roslin and Donna Air, and Fiona Walker, the best-selling author.

As a multi-platform initiative, the ‘Working Mums Club’ will be supported by targeted magazine features in Mother & Baby throughout the year, as well as bespoke online content on Mother & Baby’s website and editorial responses to current issues. There will also be live web chats with the ‘Working Mums Panel’ and other inspirational working mums.

Mother & Baby has also announced a new distribution partnership with Kiddicare, which will further increase distribution of the magazine across the UK.

Editorially, The Times writer, television presenter, restaurant critic and author Giles Coren has been confirmed as a new columnist for the magazine, offering witty and practical advice. Lucy Mangan, author and writer for The Guardian, will also be writing a monthly column along with TV presenter Cherry Healey. Renowned fashion editor Melanie Rickey has been working with the magazine on a consultancy period during its revamp and Lisa Durant will be taking responsibility for beauty in her consultant beauty editor role.

Claire Irvin, editor-in-chief of Mother & Baby magazine, commented: “This is a really exciting time for Mother & Baby magazine and with the recent Royal Baby, motherhood and parenting has never had such a big focus. It’s great to extend the reach of the magazine through a new distribution deal and we’re really excited about the brilliant additions to the editorial team – we welcome them all! We’re also particularly proud to attract the calibre of women to drive our ‘Working Mum’s Panel’. I look forward to providing the best advice and support to all new mums, with an invaluable support network.”
