New appointments at InStyle

InStyle editor Eilidh MacAskill has made two senior editorial appointments on the magazine.

Emily Dean (pictured) is the new deputy editor and Amanda Bellan will take up the role of fashion director.

For the last few years, Emily has been working as a freelance senior editorial consultant for Bauer, News International and IPC Media, as well as writing regularly for titles such as Red, Glamour and Attitude. Her journalism experience also includes time as showbiz editor on You magazine, deputy editor of the Sunday Express magazine and ES magazine editor-at-large.

Meanwhile, Amanda is currently fashion director of the Saturday Times Magazine and Times LUXX. She has also been fashion director of Esquire and has worked for a variety of advertising clients, including Levi’s, Marks & Spencer and Hugo Boss.

Eilidh MacAskill says: “Having worked with Emily in the past, I am ecstatic to bring her onto InStyle as deputy editor. She brings invaluable energy, amazing contacts and will undoubtedly help us to move the magazine forward.

“And Amanda is incredibly talented and beloved in the industry. She will bring a great deal of experience and talent to the magazine and will help us continue to develop what InStyle means to the modern woman and to the modern advertiser.”

Emily adds: “I am absolutely thrilled to be joining Eilidh and her team on InStyle. I am a huge fan of the magazine and think it goes from strength to strength under her editorship, so now is a very exciting time to be on board.”

Amanda adds: “I am really excited to be joining InStyle and working with Eilidh MacAskill and such a dynamic team. I have always greatly admired the magazine and I am looking forward to being part of its evolution and ongoing success.”

Emily takes up the deputy editor post with immediate effect, while Amanda starts as fashion director in the beginning of February.
