New Look Linux magazine

A freshly redesigned Linux magazine hits the newsstand on 30 January.

According to distributors. COMAG Specialist, Issue N112 reveals an exciting new look thanks to a bold new layout and cover. High quality title graphics and additional emphasis on the DVD covermount have maximum impact, while more articles listed on the cover highlight the diversity of content.

Brian Osborn, Managing Director of Linux New Media, says, “We’ve not only refreshed our look while remaining recognisable, the new design also allows us to present more topics and feature the DVD content prominently, making the magazine more attractive to new and occasional readers.”

Inside the new-look Linux magazine this issue:

* The Strange Art of Steganography: concealing sensitive information inside your image files

* Samhain: host-based intrusion detection

* PDF Hack: dissecting the infamous Ghostnet attack

* Safe Login: finding a password management tool

* Tinycore: This peppy Linux boots in 30 seconds!

* PiTiVi: editing your video clips

* Choosing a Media Player: Banshee, Amorak, Rhythmbox, or Songbird?

* Sandbox: shutting down browser attacks

* Two full Linux distros on a double-sided DVD

The Linux computer operating system is one of the most well-known examples of free and open source software collaboration, where the underlying source code can be accessed - and even modified - by users.  According to COMAG, Linux magazine targets these proactive readers with technical yet accessible and relevant content. The magazine is a thoughtful mix of news, reviews, how-to articles and community features for the Linux and open source communities.
