This innovative operation integrates both digital and print editorial production and planning functions, says Newsquest.
The team, based in Newport, South Wales, brings together newspaper planning, page design, and copy-editing, producing more than 250 Newsquest products. The department employs 140 people and runs a graduate training programme in conjunction with Cardiff University School of Journalism. This has resulted, so far, in more than 30 new staff gaining National Council for the Training of Journalism qualifications. A similar number of team members have undertaken Institute of Leaders and Managers qualifications in coaching and mentoring; change management and communication.
