Oliver Duff: “We are now updating our masthead to reflect how we are talked about in conversation, in newsagents and on television.”

The i Paper last week announced it is updating its logo from “i” to “The i Paper” across print and online platforms. The brand says it has also updated its logos to reflect the change.

The rebrand will be featured on the front page of the newspaper from today (Monday 16th December), alongside new strapline “Impartial news and intelligent debate”.

In a note to readers, The i Paper editor, Oliver Duff, said he welcomed their feedback and outlined the reasons for change which include consistency, brand growth and attracting new readers.

Oliver Duff said: “For 14 years, we have promised honest reporting and diverse opinion that lets readers make up their own minds – without media bias, political spin or misinformation. We are now updating our masthead to reflect how we are talked about in conversation, in newsagents and on television. Our commitment to impartial journalism has only strengthened. These values are popular with our audience and motivate journalists in our newsroom.”

Roland Agambar, CEO, Harmsworth Media added: “The refreshed masthead reflects our unique and desirable brand and readership. It should also help word-of mouth and online searches, complement and strengthen The i Paper’s intentions to keep growing in print and online, ultimately building recognition among existing readers as well as a new generation who are discovering its trusted journalism.”

This latest development comes at a time when The i Paper is going from strength to strength, added the publisher, with one of the most robust circulations in the market - reaching an influential and affluent audience of 9.2million every month.
