Last week’s winners include OMD – who won in four categories, including the Chair’s award – Spark Foundry, MediaCom, MEC and PHD.
Zaid Al-Qassab, chief brand and marketing officer at BT Group and chair of the 2017 jury, said: "The winning campaigns were clearly not random successes. Each entry showed meticulous planning, real collaboration and clear and meaningful metrics, which they could easily demonstrate were overachieved. I walked away from the judging experience feeling not only optimistic about the effectiveness of newsbrands, but of the health of the advertising and media industry as a whole. To all the winners, well done – you should all feel very proud.”
Vanessa Clifford, CEO of Newsworks, added: “With the importance of context having come to the fore this year, it’s great to see so many of 2017’s Planning Award entries utilising newsbrands’ unique environment to engage and influence consumers. The standard of work submitted this year raised the bar yet again. A very well done to all the winners and highly commended.”
