NME magazine is famous for its iconic front covers and this 132-page issue will showcase some of the greatest, along with the best music photography to have featured in its pages. Some of the most influential journalists in the world have written for NME and this edition will revisit their very best features. The biggest moments in music history will be relived and the most influential artists that NME has reported on covered, including the very first interviews with the Beatles, White Stripes, Nirvana and many more, say the publishers.
Mike Williams, NME editor, says: "As we move into this exciting next chapter for NME, it's fitting that we celebrate the first 63 years of this amazing brand with a massive party on the pages of the last paid-for issue. Across the years we've provided a platform to showcase the talents of some of the best artists, photographers and journalists around the world. Their work has inspired the next incarnation of NME, which will reach a bigger audience than at any other time in our history. I can't wait to get stuck into our vast and mind-blowing archive and start putting the issue together."
The last paid-for issue of NME, cover dated 1 August, will land on the newsstand on 29 July with a premium cover price of £3.50 and will be available for an extended on-sale period.
On 18 September, NME will enter a new era as a new NME.COM launches alongside the print edition becoming a free weekly magazine. New digital products and an expanded live events programme will follow.
