The Online Media Awards (supported by iomart, Muck Rack, the Press Association, the British Journalism Review, The Drum Network and RAR) aim to identify the cleverest, boldest and most original purveyors of news and views from around the world.
Chair of the Judges, Carla Buzasi, outlined why she chose Quartz to win the Chairperson’s award: "From the beautiful design of the site, through to genuinely through provoking content, Quartz is a news brand making huge headway with UK audiences.”
"What set it apart from the also-rans when I was making my decision, however, was how qz.com has successfully integrated its content into so many different platforms - from Apple News, where I personally read it on every Tube journey, through to Facebook and LinkedIn.”

Al Jazeera English swept the board, with its online site chosen as the Best Website of the Year, and senior editor of digital video Yasir Khan chosen as Online Editor of the Year.
BuzzFeed News and BBC's original editorial The Tennis Racket, in which the publisher used betting data to investigate match-fixing in tennis, was chosen as Breaking News Story of the Year.
