Manning’s duties as publishing director of Print and Packaging will be taken on by Paul Twite, publishing director of Haymarket’s Meetings and Travel group.
“The last 11 years have been an incredible learning experience and developing the PrintWeek and Packaging News brands in the UK and globally has been hugely exciting,” said Manning. “However, I have decided that now is the perfect time to expand my horizons even further.”
Twite will take on the additional publishing responsibilities with close support from the Print and Packaging group’s senior management team.
“One of the key reasons for the success of the Print and Packaging group is the relationship the brands have with the industries they serve,” said Twite. “I’m looking forward to meeting and listening to the personalities and brands that drive these sectors forward.”
“It will also be a privilege to work with the teams that helped grow PrintWeek, PressXchange and Packaging News into key brands which are an integral part of their industry sectors,” he added.
The Print and Packaging group will sit alongside the Meetings and Travel group under Twite, who will continue to report into the managing director of Haymarket Brand Media, Jane Macken.
Martin Durham, chairman of Haymarket Business Media, said: “Under Wayne’s leadership the print group grew from one magazine to a global portfolio of 13 products across the print and packaging group through acquisitions, launches and licensed products.”
“We are now the largest global media owner for the print and packaging sector and Wayne has been the driving force in this success. I hope you will join me in wishing the best of luck to Wayne in his future career and to Paul in his expanded role with the Print and Packaging group,” he added.
Twite rejoined Haymarket in 2004 from his role as managing director of leading online creative agency, Edesigns. Prior to this he held senior editorial management positions with Haymarket in the UK and UBM Asia-Pacific.
“Paul and his team have developed the Meetings and Travel Group through listening to the needs of its key stakeholders and developing integrated products for those markets,” said Durham. “I am delighted he has agreed to take on this exciting challenge during an Ipex year.”
