PPA unveils new combined circulation chart

The Professional Publishers Association (PPA) has published its first-ever PPA Combined Circulation Chart for UK magazine brands.

The chart details print circulation, digital edition circulation, and the combination of the two as a combined total circulation figure. It is based on ABC-audited circulation figures for the six-month period from July to December 2012.

Barry McIlheney (pictured), CEO of the PPA, said: “The rapid emergence of tablet devices in recent years has fundamentally changed how magazines are consumed and perceived. Today, the same professionally-produced content engages readers in both digital and printed formats.

“In this, the PPA’s Centenary year, the introduction of the PPA Combined Circulation Chart is an important step forward that underlines how industry measurement is evolving in line with media consumption habits to better reflect the demand for our members’ content.”
