Prince Charles to edit Country Life

Country Life has announced that HRH The Prince of Wales is to guest edit a special issue of the magazine to be published on his 65th birthday.

The commemorative edition of Country Life, the 116-year-old weekly magazine, will be published on 14 November 2013.

Mark Hedges, editor of Country Life, says: “Since its launch in 1897, Country Life has been privileged to be given access to the Royal Family at times of national celebrations. However, this is the first time that a member of the Royal Family has edited the magazine or any other publication. The Prince of Wales has been a great supporter of Country Life and its ideals over many decades, and has always taken a close interest in what we do, so we’re delighted, at last, to be able to call on his wise input and creativity. We know the result will be a very special issue, which should become a collector’s treasure.”

The Prince of Wales has given unprecedented access to Country Life editor Mark Hedges and his editorial team. The issue will feature an exclusive interview with The Prince of Wales and every news story and feature will have an association to His Royal Highness’ rural interests and portfolio.
