Sale of Independent completed

A brief statement on the INM website said: “Dublin/London 30th April 2010: Independent News & Media PLC is pleased to announce that, following Irish Competition Approval and satisfaction of other conditions, the disposal of The Independent and The Independent on Sunday to Independent Print Limited, a company controlled by the family of Mr. Alexander Lebedev, which was previously announced by the Group on the 25th March 2010, was completed today.”
