Now a birthday tradition for Stylist, this is the sixth time the magazine has handed the editorial pages over to a different group of people to create their own unique version. Issue 100 was made by readers, 200 by celebrities, 300 by MPs, 400 by robots and 500 by UK Olympians.
The 600th Made By Funny People issue, which is published on 7 December, brings together a stellar stand-up roster of 32 comedians, actors, writers and podcasters known for their individual style of humour – plus the creators of some of the funniest shows and films from Friends to Schitt’s Creek. Together, say the publishers, they have created an endorphin-raising collection of features, while making sure every page, headline and caption has their own comical stamp of approval, too.
Spanning this year’s biggest TV, social media and podcast moments, the cover of the 600th edition stars four masters of comedy from 2022: Munya Chawawa, Saoirse-Monica Jackson (Derry Girls), Ed Gamble (Off Menu) and Susan Wokoma (Cheaters, Enola Holmes), who also sit down with Stylist for what the publishers describe as the ultimate festive extravaganza inside the issue.
Other contributions include:

Commenting on the 600th issue of Stylist, Editor-In-Chief Lisa Smosarski said, “This year it felt even more important to end 2022 on a high. We couldn’t think of a more fitting takeover to mark our 600th birthday than to challenge our favourite funny people to spread some laugh-out-loud cheer throughout the pages of our magazine at a time when lots of us need it more than ever.
“And when we say they made the issue – we absolutely mean it. We loved how much our comedians got stuck into their editorial roles. From Rylan deep-diving nose-first into fragrance and sharing his wealth of notes knowledge for our beauty story to Jamie Demetriou’s countless artistic suggestions for directing the fashion shoot to Julia Davis (one half of agony aunt duo Joan and Jericha) perfecting her copy and making changes right up until press day. Everyone went above and beyond to ensure there were laughs all round – and the result is very special.”
