Every business faces its own challenges during Covid-19. For Stylist it was the fact that it had to stop distributing 400k magazines in the UK’s biggest cities, pretty much overnight.
As a solution, Stylist chose Canvasflow to quickly turnaround a mobile optimised Stylist Magazine, with the aim of producing a reader experience close to the print version. Working at speed and minimising disruption to existing workflows was vital, as staff adjusted to the new working conditions.
The Canvasflow solution for Stylist was an automated export of content from the InDesign files (part of the regular workflow) directly into the platform. Once content is in Canvasflow, it’s stored as optimised responsive content, ready to be published to multiple output channels. Stylist now publishes to Apple News+ and a proprietary app with Canvasflow connecting to all major publishing app platforms (including iOS App and Google Play App). The digital edition of Stylist Magazine was up and running after a few weeks of lock down, with no extra work preparing content for the additional output channels, says Canvasflow.
Gareth Jones, COO of Canvasflow said: "We’re delighted we’ve been able to help Stylist rapidly deploy their mobile product to an even larger audience than before. We look forward to continuing to support them and other businesses during this incredibly challenging time, ensuring content reaches audiences both hungry for important news and maybe some lighter distraction as the world adapts to these times.”
Ella Dolphin CEO, The Stylist Group, said: “Canvasflow have been great partners to Stylist during this time and delivered on their promise of an agile, fast and easy solution to our digital magazine publishing requirements. The platform delivers and so does the team at Canvasflow.”
