Sunday Times’ Style Magazine to publish largest ever accessories issue

The Sunday Times’ Style magazine is publishing its biggest ever issue solely dedicated to accessories with 112 pages and close to £0.5m in ad revenue.

This Sunday’s accessories special contains 37 pages of ads from the likes of Ralph Lauren, MaxMara, Giorgio Armani, Fendi and Patek Philippe, who want to reach Style’s 1.6m weekly readers.

The magazine sees the total number of ad pages increase by 32 per cent compared to last year, and the total revenue increase by 33 per cent from last year, say the publishers.

The accessories issue will be fronted by a “tasteful and beautiful” nude, black and white image of Cindy Crawford, to celebrate the supermodel's fifty birthday and all she has achieved during that time. The magazine will include exclusive excerpts from her upcoming book, Becoming. The book, due to be released on 29th September, chronicles Cindy’s life and career, shedding light on what it’s like to be one the most successful models of all time.

Tammy Willson, Head of Lifestyle News UK, commented: “Style's largest ever accessories issue follows hot on the heels of last week's biggest ever issue. We have produced a fashion season of special issues this month that, with the support of an increasing group of key advertisers, clearly illustrates that print is still a key focus. We are delighted to be reinforcing Style magazine's status as a flagship fashion publication with a weekly audience of 1.6m, otherwise hard to reach, readers."

Jackie Annesley, Editor of The Sunday Times’ Style magazine, said: “We cover accessories on a weekly basis but view it as a major part of fashion which our readers care about. With the continued success of the it-bag, we thought it was time to give our readers an issue solely dedicated to fashion accessories on the runway and high street. It has also presented a new advertising opportunity for brands looking to target the title’s high-end demographic.”
