The Chelsea Magazine Company announces new editor

The Chelsea Magazine Company has announced the appointment of Kate Finney as Editor of its new luxury parenting titles, Baby London, Baby Hampshire, Baby Surrey and Little London.

Kate Finney takes over from launch Editor, Summer Litchfield, who will remain integral to the magazines as Editor-at-Large.

With a readership of over 100,000, say the publishers, and available in print and on-line, the stylish bi-monthly magazines are aimed at the aspirational and discerning parent. The publications are packed with intelligent, up-to-the-minute editorial content from high-profile individuals, such as Leonora Bamford and Julia Rostoin Roitfeld, as well as the latest expert advice from contributors, including sisters Marina Fogle and Dr Chiara Hunt, Zita West, Louisa Van den Bergh and Dr Etienne Horner, among other Harley Street favourites.

Kate joins Chelsea Magazines from the BBC World Service and Radio 4, where she worked across programmes covering arts, current affairs, news, trends, media and lifestyle. She spent five years as a producer of the international arts magazine show, The Strand, and worked on other flagship programmes including Woman's Hour, Start the Week, Outlook, World Book Club and The Media Show, as well as making one-off documentaries, on both international and domestic networks.

With a varied background spanning print, broadcast and digital platforms, and strong editorial judgement, Kate is well-placed to build on the success of Chelsea Magazines' recently launched parenting portfolio. With a young daughter and a busy London life, Kate has an in-depth knowledge of both the market and the reader.

"I am thrilled to be joining The Chelsea Magazine Company and look forward to working alongside an exceptional editorial team to provide our readers with informative, high-quality content that enhances their day-to-day lives.

Becoming a parent gave me a fresh perspective on living in London, allowing me to re-connect with my local community and to understand the marvellous power of word-of-mouth recommendations and advice. I want to extend that experience to our readers, by keeping them informed about the amazing range of events, activities and products on offer, and by continuing to commission leading experts and talented writers."
