UBM rising star takes top honour at PTC awards

Hardeep Sandher of Property Week rounded off a strong performance from United Business Media by taking the top honour at the PTC New Journalist of the Year Awards 2009.

Hardeep Sandher (pictured) was named PTC New Journalist of the Year 2009 at the event held on November 20 at Vinopolis on London’s South Bank. She also won the New Business Features Journalist of the Year, with Gareth Iacobucci of Pulse picking up the New Business News Journalist of the Year to complete a hat-trick of awards for UBM.

ShortList Media’s ShortList was also well represented, with Andrew Lowry named New Consumer Journalist of the Year and Lucy Foster named New Section Editor of the Year.

Mark Hooper of Redwood’s Electric! Magazine took the award for New Editor of the Year while Most Promising Student of the Year went to Gabrielle Jaffe of City University London.

Dominic Bell of IPC Media’s Wallpaper* was awarded New Magazine Designer of the Year while the New Consumer Specialist/Customer Journalist of the Year award went to David Robson of Reed Business Information’s New Scientist.

The dynamic talent on display at this year’s New Journalist of the Year Awards demonstrates that our industry has the expertise it needs to stay agile and continue to deliver compelling content in the new media landscape.”
