UPM appoints Peter Smith as Sales Director

Peter Smith has been appointed as Sales Director, Newspaper Publishers. He replaces Will Oldham who left the company at the end of 2011.

Peter joined UPM in 1985 and has held sales roles with UPM’s Shotton Paper operations and has earlier held a number of planning, customer service and sales positions. He moves back into Newspaper Publisher sales after seven years as Customer Service Director having overseen the establishment and development of UPM’s UK and Ireland Supply Chain Centre in Altrincham.

Commenting on his appointment he said: "I look forward to re-joining UPM’s Newspaper Publishers sales operation and working closely with our customers."

Peter will be based in Altrincham and will take up his new position as soon as a successor has been recruited.

UPM UK Paper Sales currently employs approximately 60 people across sales, supply chain, customer service and support function areas.
