Vogue to launch in Thailand

Vogue will launch in print and digital in Thailand in 2013, it was announced by Jonathan Newhouse, Chairman and Chief Executive of Condé Nast International.

Condé Nast has signed a license agreement to publish Vogue in partnership with Serendipity Media Co Ltd, a new Thai company established for this venture.

Condé Nast International is pleased to begin publishing in Thailand.  It has a well-established media market, and there’s a strong appetite for luxury fashion and beauty among its sophisticated urban consumers.  The time is now right for Vogue,” said Newhouse.

Nigel Oakins, an experienced publisher in Thailand and the Asia region, is named Executive Chairman of Serendipity Media Co Ltd, and Siri Udomritthiruj, previously Managing Director of The Post Publishing magazine division, is announced as CEO.  Kullawit Laosuksri, formerly Editor-in-Chief of Elle Thailand for nine years, is appointed Editor of Vogue Thailand.

James Woolhouse, President of Condé Nast Asia-Pacific commented “We are pleased to work with Nigel Oakins and Siri Udomritthiruj, two of the most experienced and well respected media professionals.  Editorially, Kullawit Laosuksri has an unparalleled knowledge of the fashion and beauty market, and excellent relationships with both local and international fashion brands. The stage is set for the arrival of Vogue, the pre-eminent fashion media brand, in Thailand.”

Nigel Oakins added “We are thrilled to be launching Vogue in Thailand.  Thailand has a lively magazine market and even livelier local fashion scene, with many top designers starting to break through both regionally and internationally, so the timing is perfect.”

Vogue Thailand will be the twenty-first Vogue worldwide, already published in the United States, Britain, France, Italy, Germany, Spain, Russia, Japan, China, Taiwan, Mexico & Latin America, Korea, Brazil, Greece, Australia, Portugal, India, Turkey and the Netherlands.  Vogue will launch in Ukraine in 2013.

Condé Nast currently operates in 25 markets, publishing 141 magazines, over 100 websites and over 170 tablet and Smartphone apps under iconic brands such as Vogue, GQ, Glamour, Wired, Condé Nast Traveller, and Vanity Fair. Recent launches include Vogue in the Netherlands, Glamour in Brazil, Condé Nast Traveller in Russia, and AD in China and India.
