3D Artist partners with CG Student Awards

Imagine Publishing’s title for 3D artists has teamed up with the CG Student Awards to announce the launch of the 2013 3D Artist CG Student Awards.

Rebranded for 2013 as the 3D Artist CG Student Awards, this annual event showcases and rewards excellence in computer graphics from students and recent graduates. To date, the event has kick-started the careers of countless digital artists and has awarded in excess of $200,000 US in prizes, says Imagine Publishing.

“We’re delighted to partner the 2013 3D Artist CG Student Awards”, declared Dan Hutchinson, Editor-in-Chief, and member of the judging panel. “3D Artist has a well-respected track record in supporting and showcasing the work of up-and-coming 3D artists, and as the go-to choice for students and professionals working within 3D graphics, this partnership really is a perfect fit.”

Deputy editor of 3D Artist and member of the judging panel, Lynette Clee added: “The 3D Artist team has been following the CG Student Awards since its root beginnings so we’re really excited to join forces this year. It’s been fantastic to watch winners from previous years go on to such great things in the industry. We can’t wait to see 2013’s winners!”

Andrew McDonald, founder of the CG Student Awards commented, "This year marks another big step for us, not only are we expanding to include Next-Gen Gaming as an official category, but we are excited to have 3D Artist on board as a Naming Rights Partner. We have worked with them for a number of years now, and are big fans of their magazine and their team. We can't wait to see what talent we can discover this year with the added exposure generated from such a well known multimedia publisher."

The 3D Artist CG Student Awards runs from 7 March 2013 until 3 June 2013. Finalists will be shortlisted on 27 May 2013 with the Winners announced on 3 June 2013. 3D Artist will feature coverage within the magazine and online at www.3dartistonline.co.uk throughout the duration of the event.
