The JCB Diesel Max, which can go twice as fast as a Formula One car and requires a parachute to stop at higher speeds, was the biggest attraction at the show. The JCB Diesel Max has reached speeds of 350 miles per hour (563 kilometres per hour) in previous trials.
Jaguar and Land Rover showed top cars alongside exhibits of new owner Tata Motors. Lamborghini showed its Gallardo LP 560-4, which can reach 324 kilometres per hour.
Other exhibitors included Mercedes-Benz, General Motors, Skoda Auto, Ford, Hyundai, Honda, Toyota, Fiat India, Premier and Mahindra & Mahindra, a big Indian car manufacturer.
“Every year the Autocar Performance Show gets bigger and bigger,” said Autocar India editor Hormazd Sorabjee, “and the support from most manufacturers this year is proof that this platform works for them.”
