ELLE UK appoints new entertainment team

ELLE UK has appointed two of the most highly respected and experienced Entertainment media experts in the industry to source its future celebrity content – US based, Contributing Entertainment Director, Lisa Hintelmann, and Entertainment Editor, Seamus Duff in the UK.

Announcing the appointments today, ELLE Editor-in-chief, Lorraine Candy (pictured), says the brand’s key entertainment role has been split for the first time between the UK and US, to fulfil ELLE’s strategy of evolving and increasing celebrity coverage across both print and online.

Lorraine adds: “ELLE works in a very unique way with celebrity content, marrying online coverage with coverage in ELLE. We have exclusive access to the world’s biggest stars and shoot them in award winning, luxury editorials which we will be developing further this year. Our reach is unparalleled and we work closely with stars to develop projects beyond the covers using the world’s best photographers and writers.”

“I am delighted to welcome both Lisa and Seamus to ELLE. Both are highly respected in their fields and have strong magazine and celebrity PR backgrounds. Their skills and contacts complement each other and make us a powerful player in the international world of celebrity coverage.”

In the past few months, ELLE has featured Kristen Stewart, the Olsen twins, Lady Gaga and Dakota Fanning on groundbreaking covers. ELLE also recently announced that US-based superstar, David Beckham, would appear as its first male cover star for the July issue, on sale May 30.

Lisa Hintelmann is well-known and highly sought after in the US as Editorial Projects Director at Esquire – a position she has held for the last 15 years and will continue to hold. She has agreed to act as Contributing Entertainment Director for ELLE, in addition to her current responsibilities at Esquire, and will work closely with Lorraine to secure US based celebrities for the magazine’s covers. The link between Esquire and ELLE is a unique and groundbreaking move that was made possible by Hearst’s acquisition of Hachette Filipacchi last year.

Seamus Duff, who joins ELLE from Visual Talent Ltd, will be responsible for securing UK cover stars and exclusive celebrity stories for the magazine and online, as well as ensuring the world’s most famous and stylish attend high platform ELLE events such as the ELLE Style Awards. Seamus has an impressive background in both publishing and celebrity PR.

Lisa Hintelmann says: "ELLE is an elegant and forward-thinking magazine, with beautiful, arresting covers, and a clearly devoted readership. I am excited to join the ELLE family at a time when the brand is expanding boldly across all platforms."

Seamus Duff says: "ELLE is a title I have admired for many years and I am thrilled to be joining its Entertainment Team. I look forward to working alongside Lorraine and Lisa, as well as the exceptional team at ELLE, to continue providing prestigious celebrity content for readers both in print and online and working to take the entertainment content to the next level."

Former Executive Editor/Entertainment Director, Tom Macklin, left ELLE in September last year to join stable mate, Esquire, which is also published by Hearst Magazines UK.
