Madhumita Murgia joins the FT’s tech team in London as European technology correspondent from the Telegraph; Nic Fildes joins from The Times as telecoms correspondent from July; and David Bond, former sports editor at the BBC, joins as media correspondent in June. Louise Lucas takes up the newly created role of Asia tech correspondent in October, based in Hong Kong.

Over a career stretching back more than a decade, David Bond has covered sports at The Daily Telegraph, Evening Standard, and The Sunday Times.
Madhumita Murgia was formerly head of technology at the Daily Telegraph and associate editor at Wired UK and. She replaces Murad Ahmed, who is becoming leisure correspondent.
Nic Fildes has been at The Times for the past seven years, most recently as technology & communications editor. Before that, he covered the industry for both The Independent, and Dow Jones.
Since 2013, Louise Lucas has been the FT’s Asia news editor. She also spent eight years writing for and editing the FT’s popular Lex column. Lucas has been with the FT since 1993, and has won multiple awards including a 2012 prize from the Society of Publishers in Asia Editorial Excellence Awards for her coverage of the Olympus scandal.
