Future launches Creative Bloq

Future, the special interest media group and leading publisher in the digital creative market, has announced the launch of a new creative website – Creative Bloq.

Launching this week, Creative Bloq is targeted at an audience with a broad interest in design; including creative professionals and enthusiasts as well as people who may not consider themselves as “designers” but who face specific creative challenges at home or work.

Creative Bloq will provide new, daily content to inform, inspire and entertain, solve problems, connect with like-minded people and access the best creative content on the web.

Creative Bloq brings together Future’s portfolio of design websites – including Computer Arts, .net and 3D World – into a single creative network offering advertisers the ability to target a broad creative audience or target specific creative disciplines.

Creative Bloq will cover a broad range of creative subjects including graphic design, web design, 3D, digital art, photo editing and inspiration. However, its editorial strategy - focused around search, social referral and goal-oriented visitors - means that content will be influenced and informed by what the creative community is looking for and talking about.

Future is a global leader in online and tablet publishing, with over 35 million unique users every month across its network of web and mobile sites. The new brand will further enhance Future’s reach across the creative industries internationally. Future’s creative sites already deliver over 3 million page views a month.

Produced in Future’s Bath-based offices, Creative Bloq will be edited by Future veteran Dan Oliver, previously Editor-in-Chief of specialist web design magazine .net, with an in-house team of five people and a host of international contributors.

Dan Oliver, Editor-in-Chief for Creative Bloq says: “Creative Bloq is all about making design entertaining and accessible to as many people as possible. We're passionate about all areas of design, and as the tools of each creative area become easier to use and acquire, people are no longer restricted to just one discipline. So, whether you're looking for inspiring infographics, a guide to 3D printing, an overview of the best iPad apps or a list of great HTML5 websites - we've got it covered!"

Fiona Tully, Publisher for Future’s creative portfolio adds: “We’re delighted to introduce Creative Bloq to the world. It’s an exciting step in our strategy for digital growth in the design sector, enabling us to reach out to a much wider audience of people who would never consider themselves “designers” but who are nevertheless involved in creative or design-led pursuits.

“Creative Bloq will also be a shop-window for our existing web portfolio, introducing a wider audience to our specialist sites covering graphic design, web design, 3D and digital art and growing our international creative community.”
