Future launches new weekly interactive digital magazine

Future, the international specialist media group, has launched Photography Week, a new international, interactive digital magazine.

Now on-sale through Apple’s Newsstand, Photography Week is a Tablet-only photography magazine available on the iPad. Priced at £19.99 (US $32.99) for an annual subscription or £1.49 (US 99c) for a single issue, the weekly title is packed with rich, interactive video and editorial content which will help photographers of all skill levels improve their images and get more from their cameras.

A special trial subscription offer also means that subscribers will also receive their first five issues for free.

A truly international title, Photography Week is aimed at enthusiastic photographers from all over the world and will showcase the best international photography and feature tips and interviews with professional photographers from every continent. With opportunities for community interaction throughout every issue, Photography Week offers readers the chance to get their images into the magazine, with the very best featured on the cover itself.

Photography Week has been created specifically for the iPad by the teams behind Digital Camera, N-Photo and PhotoPlus using Future’s own proprietary software, FutureFolio. FutureFolio is an Apple-approved wrapper for digital products on the Newsstand and enables Photography Week to have levels of interactivity and functionality not yet seen in any weekly photography title, says Future.

Matthew Pierce, Group Publisher for Future’s Creative portfolio, says: “With the launch of Photography Week, we’ve created a completely new weekly product, packed with must-have content tailored especially for international photography enthusiasts. Through interactive pages, bespoke video and galleries of the world’s most stunning photography, Photography Week is the perfect fit for Apple’s Newsstand.”

According to the company, Future is a world leader in tablet publishing, with its current stable of photography magazines already enjoying huge success on Apple’s Newsstand. Digital Camera World is the best-selling digital photography magazine for iPad (Jan-Dec 2011 ABC), and with Canon-only title PhotoPlus, and recent launches N-Photo: The Nikon Magazine and Practical Photoshop, these four magazines’ iPad editions together total more than 1.4 million container app downloads.
