James Marchington takes up the newly created position of Editor-in-Chief of Clay Shooting, with responsibility for all clay pigeon shooting content created across Future’s print and digital channels, including the highly monthly magazine Clay Shooting and its website, www.clay-shooting.com. He will also consult on the magazine’s branded events, including the Clay Shooting Classic and British Schools & Young Shots Championship.
Marchington is an experienced and knowledgeable shooter with impeccable journalistic credentials, says Future. Introduced to shooting at an early age by his father, he has worked in the shooting press for nearly four decades as a writer, editor and photographer, more recently developing his skills in video production. He worked as a reporter at the London 2012 Olympics and was the first journalist to interview Peter Wilson after he won his historic Double Trap gold medal.
James shot his first clays as a young boy under the watchful eye of Mike Rose at West London Shooting School, and still enjoys clays as well as rough and game shooting. He is a keen follower of our top shooting competitors, and is passionate about bringing young shots into clay shooting as well as developing the sport.
