Girl Talk launches first TV advertising campaign

Girl Talk magazine, Immediate Media Co pre-teen title, has broadcast its first TV adverts on Nickelodeon, Pop Girl, Boomerang and CITV.

The campaign to urge 7-11 year old girls to make it a ‘Girl Talk’ summer includes online display advertisements on nick.co.uk, boomerangtv.co.uk and popgirl.tv

Showcasing the title’s fantastic content, say the publishers, the vibrant 20 second advertisement shows readers enjoying the magazine in the park and runs through the fashion, gossip and cringe pages. It is expected to have reached an overall audience of over 7 million viewers.

According to Immediate Media Co, the campaign has so far resulted in a 32% increase in units sold in comparison to the issue on sale prior to the summer campaign and a 57% increase on the unique users to the Girl Talk website compared with the previous month.

Girl Talk magazine’s editor, Bea Appleby says “We are delighted to be launching Girl Talk’s first TV campaign this Summer which gives us a chance to show off our fabulous magazine to potential new readers.”

Girl Talk magazine was launched by BBC Magazines and is now fully owned by Immediate Media Co. Its success has led to the launch of Girl Talk Art in June 2012, a magazine devoted to arts and crafts for young girls.

The TV ad can be seen on the Girl Talk website.
