Graphics and Print Merge With Taws Printers

Two of the longest established commercial printers in Shropshire, Graphics and Print and Taws Printers, have announced a merger which creates a new force in the print manufacturing industry.

Graphics and Print started in Telford in 1980 as a small family-run business but has seen rapid growth over the last seven years since Managing Director, Martin Kells, took over the business. Taws also has its roots firmly established in Shropshire, continuing a family legacy that started 40 years ago. The merged business will retain the name Graphics and Print and promises some exciting changes:

• The most significant change will see the business move to a 24 hour printing press operation, increasing the speed of print to market

• Both businesses have invested in state of art processes, plant and machinery ensuring efficiencies for customers at every step of the print journey but the merger means customers will now receive even more competitive pricing and greater value for money, says Graphics and Print

• Customers will have access to a broader manufacturing base

• The manufacturing process will now have duplicity at every step of the production process, which all takes place under one roof

• The premises at Hortonwood provide even greater space to offer services such as storage and stock control

Managing Director, Martin Kells, said: “Graphics and Print and Taws have been discussing this merger for quite some time as both parties recognised the positive impact this could bring for the business and customers alike. The most significant change will see the business move to 24 hour working which delivers greater flexibility, cost effectiveness and speed to market for customers. The combined and constant drive to reduce costs and to deliver these savings onto our clients means customers are actually paying less for their print now than 7 years ago. This is just one of the many reasons why we have seen growth in a declining industry, year on year for the last seven years.”

The new merged business will be announcing an open day shortly, for existing clients and prospective customers to come and meet the combined team. The company will operate from the state of the art factory at Hortonwood 1, Telford, Shropshire TF1 7GN, that is one of the most modern print shops in the UK; the site offers ample room for production, print management and graphic design meaning that quality controls can be made from start to finish during the print process.
