Hearst appoints new Advertising Operations Director

18 July: Hearst Magazines UK has appointed Guljeet Samra as Advertising Operations Director across its digital business.

Guljeet (pictured), who joins from Trinity Mirror, is a renowned and highly talented digital advertising trailblazer with more than nine years’ experience in innovative digital media and commercial strategy.

She has a strong analytical background, first-class expertise in client partnership, and years of technical experience across site development and integration; all vital skills, says the company, for her new role managing digital sales operations across the large network of websites, mobile sites, applications and digital editions published by Hearst Magazines UK.

Guljeet has spent the past two and a half years in senior roles at Trinity Mirror, most recently as Director of Advertising Operations where she led the Trinity Mirror Ad ops team to its first digital award at the 2012 AOP Awards. Guljeet also managed a 14-strong Ops team in multiple locations across more than 100 websites and made essential operational changes to enable Trinity Mirror Digital to deliver multi-million pound revenue targets.

Guljeet is no stranger to Hearst Magazines UK having previously worked at Hearst Digital, the media owner’s UK digital arm. She also held key digital advertising roles at Guardian Newspapers and Dennis Publishing.

Guljeet will start her new role at Hearst Magazines UK on August 5.

At Hearst Magazines UK, Guljeet will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of all advertising across the leading media owner’s magazine websites and digital pure play brands.  She will report into Hearst Magazines UK Digital Strategy Director, Rebecca Miskin, and will work closely with newly-appointed Group Digital Sales Director, Stephen Edwards, and the expanding digital team.

Earlier this year, Hearst Magazines UK’s Chief Executive, Arnaud de Puyfontaine, announced plans to propel the company’s digital agenda forward and create even more compelling innovative cross-media solutions for advertisers and clients as part of an on-going business strategy.

Announcing Guljeet’s appointment, Rebecca Miskin says: “I am delighted to welcome Guljeet back to Hearst Magazines UK in this crucial senior digital role.  Hearst is at the cutting edge of digital advertising and Guljeet’s expertise across premium digital environments will be a huge asset to our business.”

Guljeet says: “I’m delighted to be joining Hearst Magazines UK in what is a pivotal time for the business and to be given the opportunity to shape and deliver commercial digital strategy. I’m looking forward to working with Rebecca, Stephen and the team and seeing how we can further develop the fantastic Hearst UK brands digitally.”
