Hearst appoints new publisher for Prima

Hearst Magazines UK has announced the appointment of David Parker as Publisher of one of its best performing magazines - Prima.

David (pictured), who was previously Publisher/Sales Director of Country Living and You and Your Wedding, is assuming the publishing responsibility of Prima, in addition to Country Living. Prima, edited by Maire Fahey, is the UK’s 5th largest-selling women's monthly magazine with a circulation of 280,207.

These changes are being made as Publishing Director Steven Seaton, who was previously responsible for Prima, Prima Baby & Pregnancy, Babyexpert.com, Psychologies and NetDoctor.co.uk, is joining Immediate Media as the Managing Director of its London specialist division. Steven was the editor of Runner's World when it became part of the NatMag-Rodale (Hearst Rodale) joint venture business in 2004. He was subsequently the Publishing Director of Runner’s World and Triathlete’s World as well as Zest, which is owned by Hearst Magazines UK.

Both Prima and Country Living sit within Hearst UK’s Lifestyle Group which comprises Coast, Country Living, Good Housekeeping, House Beautiful, Prima and Psychologies. Judith Secombe, Group Publishing Director, Lifestyle Group will now publish Psychologies in addition to Good Housekeeping.

Prima Baby & Pregnancy along with You & Your Wedding were sold to Immediate Media in January this year.
