Farrah Storr, currently Editor of Women’s Health magazine, has been appointed as Editor of Cosmopolitan and Louise Court, currently Editor-in-Chief of Cosmopolitan, has been made Director of Editorial Strategy and Content across Hearst Magazines UK.
Cosmopolitan is the biggest women’s media brand in the world, say the publishers. The digital audience for Cosmopolitan online is growing exponentially and currently attracts 5.5 million unique visitors every month in the UK alone. The Cosmopolitan brand has successfully expanded to include a range of events including FashFest and the Ultimate Women of the Year Awards. Farrah will oversee the content strategy and execution for the brand with immediate effect.
As launch Editor of Women’s Health magazine, Farrah has been responsible for driving its growth. Women’s Health is the UK’s best-selling health and lifestyle publication, and has been the most successful women’s magazine launch of the last decade, says Hearst. Under Farrah’s leadership, it has seen five consecutive increases in its ABC circulation figures.
Prior to joining Women’s Health, Farrah was Deputy Editor of Top Santé magazine, and Features Director of Marie Claire in Sydney.
Farrah Storr says: “I am thrilled to be taking on the role of Editor of Cosmopolitan and adding my name to the list of brilliant, fearless, women who have created an iconic magazine brand which has such a positive impact on women’s lives. My aim is to build on the trust that women have in Cosmopolitan, and to continue to develop the brand for our confident, successful and growing audience.”
Louise Court, currently Editor-in-Chief of Cosmopolitan, has been appointed to Hearst’s Executive Team as Director of Editorial Strategy and Content for Hearst Magazines UK. In her newly created role, she will be responsible for editorial content innovation, new products and Hearst Empowering Women.
Louise, who has edited Cosmopolitan for the last eight years, is a multi-award winning Editor-in-Chief, with industry awards, which include the British Society of Magazine Editors (BSME) “Campaign of the Year” and “Editor's Editor of the Year”. She won Editor of the Year at the 2014 BSME Awards.
Louise says: "Hearst Magazines UK has an incredible audience, speaking to one in three women and a huge amount of men about the things that really matter to them. I am looking forward to extending that reach through the innovation and creativity of some of the most powerful brands in publishing."
CEO of Hearst Magazines UK Anna Jones says: “I am thrilled to be making these appointments. Farrah has a proven track record in delivering great results in the world of glossy, aspirational women’s magazines. She is smart, creative and has a brilliant instinct for what makes women tick and I am looking forward to seeing her vision for the next phase of Cosmopolitan.
