HSJ launches tablet edition and new subs packages

15 July: EMAP’s Health Service Journal (HSJ) has launched its first tablet edition, making its content available to healthcare leaders on iPads as well as desk-top, mobile and the weekly print magazine.

HSJ research (HSJ subscriber survey of 1,272 respondents May 2013) showed that over half of HSJ subscribers already use tablets as part of their role, and 13% see the use of business content on tablet as essential. The launch of the tablet edition of HSJ will ensure users have fast access to breaking news and latest content, whilst on the move and at any point in the day.

The brand new tablet edition contains all the latest content from HSJ.co.uk in addition to every feature from the most recent issue of the magazine.

To coincide with the launch of the tablet platform, HSJ is introducing three new subscription packages so that subscribers can pick the formats that best suit their needs. New subscribers can take up one of these packages now and existing subscribers can switch from 14 August. The new packages are:

• The Standard Package (includes the magazine and full access to HSJ.co.uk and the mobile site)

• The Digital Package (includes the new tablet app and full access to HSJ.co.uk and the mobile site)

• The Leadership Package (includes the magazine, the tablet app and full access to HSJ.co.uk and the mobile site)

Andy Baker, Managing Director, HSJ said: “We’re pleased to announce that HSJ’s essential content is now available on tablets as well as via desk-top, mobile, print and face-to-face events to offer even better access and more flexibility to our subscribers. Our audience of senior health care professionals spans the public and private sector, and subscribers look to HSJ to guide them through the changes to the NHS, to deliver breaking news and offer vital insight and analysis. Our new choice of subscription packages will mean that individuals or organisations can choose how to consume our content, and get the most from our product to help them progress and succeed in their field.”

The launch of the tablet edition and new subscription packages are supported by a creative campaign, with the strap-line “Your Daily Dose. Now in tablet form”.

The creative was developed by EMAP’s in-house design team and runs in this week’s print edition of HSJ and online at HSJ.co.uk.
