IFABC hosts annual European meeting in Stockholm

The International Federation of Audit Bureaux of Circulation (IFABC) is hosting its annual European meeting this week in Stockholm to talk about the future of global measurement standards for the media industry.

The IFABC Europe conference will be discussing a range of issues affecting the media industry today, including ‘hybrid’ approaches to online audience measurement that fuse panel and census techniques, led by Richard Foan from ABC UK, and progress in measuring and auditing tablet versions of papers and magazines as well as digital publications reporting more broadly. The European meeting offers the IFABC a chance to come together and discuss key issues in the media measurement industry ahead of the global General Assembly in October, which will take place in Madrid.

George Bohlander, President of IFABC Europe said, “As the online world breaks down barriers between countries, media buyers and owners are trading across international lines and accountability is becoming more and more important for advertisers. IFABC is providing trusted media data that advertisers and media agencies can rely on across these boundaries.”

Jerry Wright (pictured), President of IFABC said, “In an ever-shrinking media world it is increasingly important to ensure that we are able to rapidly transfer innovations and learnings across the globe, where possible with a consistent approach to standards for data. The pace of change in digital continues and with that, so does the demand for trusted data. Data that is based, more than ever, on the underlying census measurement fused with panel based audience data. IFABC standards and verification by the local ABC ensure the results are trusted.

“As part of our ongoing discussions and during our session in Stockholm we will be sharing knowledge and best practice from around the world, building on the work of our global Web Standards Group and our Digital Publications framework.”
