Imagine launches digital editions portal

As part of its ‘Content is King’ strategy, Imagine Publishing has launched the new face of its digital editions website, GreatDigitalMags.com.

According to Imagine, GreatDigitalMags.com is set to deliver a state-of-the-art browsing and buying experience for Imagine’s entire digital content library, including key international brands How It Works, Photoshop Creative, iCreate, Total 911, Digital Photographer, ScFiNow, Android Magazine and games.

The new scalable, fully-automated platform has been rebuilt from the ground up and already boasts over 1,000 indexed pages. These contain full product details – including titles, descriptions and cover images – for every Imagine digital edition magazine, bookazine and eBook.

The site is updated every hour with the latest products to come on stream – along with links that let you download them from Imagine’s digital store partners. Currently live are storefronts for iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, Zinio, Kobo and Waterstones, and the site is able to cope with new digital platforms as they become available worldwide.

A key feature of the new site is its use of real-time digital ‘filters’ to allow users to view only the retail platforms they are interested in at the click of a button or a swipe of their finger. With a simple flick of a digital switch the site rebuilds itself instantly to display only the content desired for each store. Easy-to-use menus also allow you to browse digital editions by brand, category or digital edition type – magazine, bookazine or eBook.

Other special features include real-time predictive search, touch-friendly ‘strokable’ product shelves and full implementation of Facebook’s Open Graph protocol to allow the products full exposure on the social networking map.

“GreatDigitalMags.com is real next generation digital platform and I am extremely pleased with this clever and intuitive new site from the Imagine digital team”, said Group Managing Director Damian Butt. “We now have a one-stop-shop for the marketing of our digital editions on all key platforms and formats, and this is sure to further increase Imagine’s impressive digital revenue growth.”

“This whole digital content space is set to explode in the next few months and we’ve built a shop window for our catalogue that is both beautiful to look at and incredibly easy to use,” said Mat Toor, Imagine’s Head of Digital.
