International Content Marketing Awards – open for entries

The Content Marketing Association (CMA), previously the Association of Publishing Agencies (APA), has announced that its annual Awards are open for entries.

The International Content Marketing Awards 2012 are dedicated to recognizing effectiveness and creativity in content marketing and are open to all agencies involved in the production of content in the UK and internationally.

This year, the prestigious Awards have been divided into four categories: print, creativity, digital and cross-media marketing, as well as the prestigious Grand Prix Award. Last year’s awards saw over 500 entries - an overall increase in submissions of 16 per cent from the year before; testament to the rising importance of content marketing strategies for brands, says the CMA. The awards also experienced a surge in international interest in 2011, almost doubling 2010’s overseas submissions, including agencies from Spain, Germany, Finland, Norway, Australia, South Africa, UAE, Belgium, France, Czech Republic, Sweden, France and South Africa.

Julia Hutchison (pictured), COO, CMA, said: “The past year has been incredibly exciting for the content marketing industry, and this year’s Awards are especially exciting for us as it is the first time we are organising the event as the CMA, following our re-brand earlier this month. With its remit of rewarding effective content marketing in all its forms, these Awards are a fine demonstration of our industry’s integrated, multichannel approach, and a celebration of the highly creative and highly strategic work that’s currently defining the world of content marketing.”

The deadline for submissions is Thursday 6th September and the winners will be announced at a ceremony held on Wednesday 28th November at Old Billingsgate, London.

The awards are preceded by the third annual International Content Summit, also being held at Old Billingsgate. This year’s Summit theme is 'Telling Brand Stories', a unique aspect of content marketing that reflects the editorial confidence and strategic expertise that defines the industry today. The summit will offer insight, advice and strategic thinking for marketing, advertising and publishing professionals. The line-up of high profile speakers will be announced shortly.
